What visa does a Grenada passport need for Iran?

🇬🇩 → 🇮🇷 Visa on arrival

Fly first, then apply at the arrival airport. Bring a return ticket and proof of accommodation — the border officer can still refuse you.

Visa rules can change at any time. Confirm with your airline before each flight — the airline is liable if they board a passenger against regulations, so they update fastest. Data verified on 26/07/2026.

The other direction: Iran nationals travelling to Grenada — visa required in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Iran does not prohibit it but does not RECOGNISE it — a different model from prohibition. Iran regards someone born an Iranian citizen as remaining one and acts as though the other nationality does not exist. It revokes nothing, but acknowledges nothing either.
Consular protection barely functions: if a dual national encounters difficulty on Iranian soil, the other country's mission is typically not granted access because Iran treats it as an internal matter. Entering on a foreign passport does not erase Iranian nationality, and obligations under Iranian law continue to apply, including military service for men within the prescribed ages.
Distinguish two different questions: does this country let me hold two nationalities, and if something happens to me on its soil, what can the other country do for me. The second is almost never asked while costs and processing times are being discussed. While you stand on the territory of a country whose nationality you hold, that country treats you as its citizen — the general worldwide rule, not an Iranian peculiarity.
Yes, since 2019 Iran adopted provisions allowing children of Iranian women and foreign husbands to acquire Iranian nationality under a prescribed procedure. It is application-based and conditional rather than automatic parity with the paternal line, but a real change for tens of thousands of families. It is also the first case in this library showing that gender-unequal provisions in nationality law can be changed.
Payment, not tax or procedure. Most Iranian banks are restricted from or cut off from common international payment channels, and many third-country banks decline Iran-related transactions because of their own compliance risk. International credit and debit cards generally do not work there. Businesses must resolve this with their own bank, freight forwarder and insurer before discussing commercial terms.
No. Naturalisation of foreigners exists in law but requires long residence and case-by-case assessment, in very small numbers. Renouncing Iranian nationality is a procedure that exists but is very difficult and highly discretionary.
The same mechanism: a large body of water lost because its inflow was diverted for irrigation. Lake Urmia was once the largest salt lake in the Middle East and has shrunk drastically, belonging to the same problem family as the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Three countries, three lakes, one mechanism.
Despite repeated conquest, Iran retained its own language and identity rather than being assimilated, unlike most of the Middle East, which shifted to Arabic. Persian survived continuously and became a major literary language across a vast region, influencing Central Asia, Afghanistan, South Asia and the Mughal empire. Dari in Afghanistan and Tajik in Tajikistan belong to the same language area.
