What visa does a Grenada passport need for India?

🇬🇩 → 🇮🇳 E-visa — apply online

This is a real visa, just filed online. You wait for approval, you can be refused, and the fee is usually non-refundable.

Visa rules can change at any time. Confirm with your airline before each flight — the airline is liable if they board a passenger against regulations, so they update fastest. Data verified on 26/07/2026.

The other direction: India nationals travelling to Grenada — visa-free, up to 90 days.

Frequently asked questions
No. Despite the name Overseas Citizen of India containing 'citizen', it is not citizenship. OCI holders are not Indian citizens, cannot vote, cannot hold elected office, cannot buy agricultural land and hold no Indian passport. The status can also be revoked by administrative decision.
A multiple-entry visa valid for life, the right to reside without time limit, the right to work and study without further permits, exemption from police registration, and parity with citizens in many economic, financial and educational matters including buying property other than agricultural land. It is genuinely valuable, provided it is understood correctly as not being citizenship.
No. An Indian citizen who acquires another nationality loses Indian citizenship under Indian law, and no procedure exists for holding both. Anyone offering 'Indian dual citizenship' is offering something that does not exist.
It must be surrendered and a surrender certificate obtained. Failing to do so, or continuing to use an Indian passport after acquiring another nationality, can attract penalties and create difficulties when later applying for OCI or visas.
NRI is not an immigration status but a tax and financial classification for Indian citizens living abroad — an NRI remains an Indian citizen. OCI is a residence status for people of Indian origin who are not citizens. PIO was an older status merged into OCI in 2015, so any material treating PIO as separate is out of date.
Not automatically. India once applied citizenship by place of birth almost unconditionally, but since 1987 birth in India confers citizenship only if at least one parent is an Indian citizen, and since 2004 the other parent must additionally not be an illegal migrant at the time of the birth.
Ask two questions: does it give the right to vote, and does it give that country's passport. If the answer is no, it is not citizenship, whatever the name contains. This separates citizenship from everything that resembles it.
Foreigners residing beyond prescribed periods must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). This obligation is frequently overlooked and has real consequences on departure.
