With Liberia, Sierra Leone is one of two African countries whose capital was founded as a settlement for people of African descent freed from slavery, here chiefly from Britain, North America and slave ships intercepted at sea. That community — the Krio — developed its own culture and language, and Krio is today widely used as a common language.

Every serious programme requires source-of-funds evidence — where the money came from, through what steps, with what documentation — and this is where files fail most often, not because the money is problematic but because people cannot reconstruct the trail.
One, proving provenance means proving a chain, not a point — a bank balance today is not enough, you must show how the money got there. Two, commingling is the enemy: diamonds of mixed origin lose traceability and so does money pooled from several sources, so separate the application funds into a dedicated account early. Three, standards tighten over time; they do not loosen.
